Nissan Magnite is the only offering from the Japanese automaker in India. Launched in late 2020, the subcompact SUV has completed over three successful years and is now ready for its first mid-life update. Interestingly, we got to see the first image of the new 2024 Nissan Magnite facelift at what appears to be at a crash test facility. However, the production ready version is partially revealed showing its slightly updated grille, revised front bumper, newly-designed headlamps and updated LED signatures. The Magnite facelift is likely to come with newly-designed alloy wheels and tweaked rear bumper.
Minimal changes are expected to be made to its interior. The new 2024 Nissan Magnite facelift might receive new trims and seat upholstery along with a bunch of new features. The subcompact SUV has already been equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a TFT instrument cluster, rear AC vents, an automatic AC unit, push-button start, keyless entry, Nissan Connect telematics, armrests for both front and rear occupants, etc.
The engine setup of the new Nissan Magnite facelift is likely to be retained. The subcompact SUV is currently available with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder and 1.0L turbo petrol engines. While the former delivers power worth 71bhp and 96Nm of torque, the latter is good for 99bhp and 160Nm. Transmissions will also be carried forward from the current model – i.e. a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT, and a CVT automatic.
In other fresh updates, the Japanese automaker is reported to introduce the Nissan X-Trail 7-seater SUV to challenge the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster in India. It’s likely to come with the 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine delivering 204bhp and 305Nm. While globally the X-Trail is available with the hybrid powertrain, it will be offered with the petrol engine only in India.
