Provide basic facilities at TVVP hospitals, says health minister

Hyderabad: The state health department has decided to streamline Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) hospitals into secondary health centres, for which proposals are underway.
In a recent meeting, health minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha said additional posts would be given to TVVP hospitals. “Promotions of doctors, hospital staff and other service matters should be included in the proposals,” the minister said, stressing that all issues raised by the staff should be taken into consideration.
“Most patients in the districts are treated either in the district or in the TVVP hospitals. Therefore, it is imperative that all kinds of facilities are available in these hospitals. The proposals have been made keeping in view the present and future requirements of out-patients, in-patients and bed strength. As per the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS), hospitals should have clinical and non-clinical staffing patterns,” said an official.
All basic medical services like general medicine, surgery, gynaecology and paediatrics will be available in TVVP hospitals, the minister said, adding that the target is to provide medical care to 85% of the patients in the districts.
