Hyderabad: A female law student was found dead under suspicious circumstances hanging from the ceiling fan in an office room at Moosarambagh, Malakpet on Monday.
While the police suspect she had died by suicide, her family members allege foul play.
As per available information, Islavath Shravya (20), who is a law student, was working at the front office of a firm. She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the hall of the office with her dupatta.
On receiving information, the Malakpet police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, mild tension prevailed at the police station premises as family members and relatives of Shravya gathered and staged a protest. They alleged that Shravya would not have died on her own, but was killed by somebody.
The police used slight force to disperse the protestors and brought the situation under control.
Police said case was being investigated from all possible angles including a homicide. Based on further investigation and evidence, necessary action will be taken, they added.
