Hyderabad Police Destroys Rs 7.5 Crore Worth of Seized Drugs in Major Operation | Hyderabad News


Seized drugs worth Rs 7.5 cr destroyed

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police‘s drug disposal committee on Thursday destroyed seized drugs worth around Rs 7.5 crore. The destroyed consignment pertains to different types of drugs seized by police in 208 cases.
A total of 2,140 kg of ganja, 3,800 grams of mahakal (bottles), 12,669 ml of hash oil, 540 alprazolam tablets, 19.34 grams of cocaine, four LSD blots, 177.75 grams of MDMA and 70 grams of opium were destroyed as per the procedures laid down in the NDPS Act at GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt Ltd, a bio-medical waste management and handling services agency at Nandigama in Rangareddy district, said city police commissioner CV Anand.
He emphasised the measures taken to curb the menace of drugs in the city by strengthening Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing. Night patrolling was also intensified in the dark spots identified by the field teams to make the city free from drugs, added Anand.
The drugs destroyed on Thursday pertain to cases registered under 36 police stations of Hyderabad city between 2019 and 2024. In June, drugs worth Rs 3.08 crore pertaining to 118 cases were destroyed by police.
Drugs worth Rs 28.74 crore have been destroyed in the past three years.
