Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials to integrate technology into all aspects of governance, emphasising real-time data collection and inter-departmental collaboration to enhance service delivery. He stated that the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) would take full responsibility for the soon to be launched WhatsApp governance model.
Naidu said that the certificate issuing process should be simplified with the WhatsApp governance model and proposed integrating artificial intelligence and advanced technologies into the system to efficiently address public grievances. RTGS was instructed to evaluate the effectiveness of grievance redressal mechanisms and gauge public satisfaction with these services. During the review, officials were asked to integrate data from drones, CCTV cameras, satellites, and IoT devices into RTGS operations. The chief minister cited the recent use of drones to confirm marijuana plantations identified through Google Maps as an example of technology aiding governance. He also recommended using drones to monitor crop diseases and accident-prone areas on roads.
Officials reported that over 90% of farmers were satisfied with grain procurement services and the feedback, gathered through an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), highlighted positive experiences with quality-based pricing, timely payments, and transportation facilities. The chief minister urged that any dissatisfaction be addressed promptly and instructed officials to monitor the credibility of information shared on social media and take necessary actions. The officials further told Naidu that statewide geo-tagging of households reached 95% completion. Naidu asked the officials to ensure accuracy in geo-tagging. He also directed the introduction of Aadhaar services in more villages and approved 20 crore for the purchase of 1000 new Aadhaar kits.
Naidu further asked the officials to develop a portal for monitoring projects with more than 100 crore investments. The portal will provide real-time updates on 80 projects funded by the Union govt. Additionally, a dedicated web portal for birth and death registration is set to be launched on Jan 1.
