Speaking to the media on the occasion, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar emphasised the dual significance of the day, celebrating both Sonia Gandhi’s birthday and the Congress government’s successful completion of one year in Telangana. He described the milestone as a ‘Prajapalana Vijayotsavam’ and expressed pride in the Congress’s role in the creation of Telangana under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership.
“The Congress government in Telangana has been steering the State towards redevelopment, fostering democratic values and addressing the needs of the people,” Mr. Goud said. He also criticised the previous BRS regime for being elitist and disconnected from the public. Referring to the controversy surrounding the ‘Telangana Talli’ statue, he said that they had designed the statue to reflect Telangana’s culture and traditions and rubbished the allegations of BRS.
