Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Group-II exam held across 33 districts was marked by low attendance. Out of 5,51,855 applicants, only 46.75 per cent attended Paper-I in the morning session and 46.30 per cent appeared for Paper-II in the afternoon.
The question paper proved challenging, with a heavy focus on current affairs and English. “The paper had a 360-degree coverage of current affairs, with 36-38 questions,” said Sai Priya N., an aspirant.
The English section, featuring 19-22 questions on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension, was described as more rigorous than in previous years.
“The paper rewarded consistent preparation over coaching-focused strategies,” noted Gopal Krishna, director of a coaching centre. Experts highlighted the emphasis on analytical skills, with questions covering geography, history, polity, reasoning, and international relations.
Meanwhile, a candidate trying to cheat using her mobile was caught. The girl student, at Exam Centre Code 4419, was found hiding a foldable mobile phone in her undergarment during routine checks.
Alerted by the chief superintendent, authorities barred her from the exam and handed her over to the police. Action was taken under the Malpractice Case Act 25/97, as outlined in notification no. 28/2022.
