Top Samsung executives meeting this week to finalize Galaxy S25 strategy
According to a report from South Korean media, Samsung is holding executive meetings today and tomorrow. In these meetings, the company will discuss its global strategy for next year.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the company’s high-level executives will discuss the marketing strategy for its electronics products like smartphones, tablets, wearables, TVs, and home appliances. Key products that are to be discussed on these days include the upcoming Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
They could also discuss the launch and marketing strategy for Samsung’s first extended reality (XR) device, which is currently called Project Moohan. The prototype-stage device was showcased a few days ago, and it will be the first device to run Android XR. It could be showcased to the media during the launch of the Galaxy S25 event late next month and launched in the second half of 2025.
On Thursday, the executives will discuss Samsung’s strategy for semiconductor products like DRAM, NAND, HBM, and other application processors and sensors.
Similar global meetings happen biannually at Samsung Electronics. JH Han, the Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics’ DA division, and YH Jun, the Vice Chairman and Head of Samsung Semiconductor division, will preside over the meetings. Samsung Electronics Chairman JY Lee, is not expected to be present at the meeting.

Samsung needs to improve in foldable phones, HBM memory, and foundry segments
While the sales of Samsung’s high-end Galaxy S series devices (Galaxy S24) have improved compared to their predecessors, the sales of its Galaxy Z series devices have stagnated over the past couple of years. The company tried something new with the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, and the learnings from it could be used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The most challenging thing that Samsung is facing right now is its situation in the semiconductor market. The company is lagging behind smaller rivals in terms of in-demand HBM memory used in AI chips from the likes of AMD and Nvidia. In the contract chip fabrication business, Samsung Foundry is lagging severely. Its market share is at an all-time low right now.
Hopefully, Samsung will devise a plan to make a comeback in the HBM and foundry segments.
