NIZAMABAD/KAMAREDDY: Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts marked the end of their five-year tenure with grand farewell programmes on Saturday. The events honoured municipal mayors, chairpersons, corporators, and councillors, allowing elected representatives to reflect on their contributions over the past five years.
In Nizamabad, Mayor Dandu Neethu Kiran and municipal corporators participated in the farewell celebrations. The event was attended by Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta, former MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta, and municipal commissioner Dilip Kumar, among others. Speaking at the event, the guests lauded the efforts made towards the city’s development and expressed gratitude for the collaborative work that propelled Nizamabad forward.
Meanwhile, in Kamareddy, municipal chairperson Gaddam Indu Priya led the farewell meeting, with state government adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir serving as the chief guest. Shabbir emphasised the importance of public service, noting that many leaders began their careers as municipal councillors before advancing to state Cabinet positions. “Leaders should always prioritise serving the people,” he remarked, inspiring current and future representatives to maintain their commitment to the community.
In Bodhan, municipal chairperson Thumu Padma and municipal councillors gathered for their final meeting of the five-year term. Concurrently, the Armoor municipality conducted its last council meeting, passing various resolutions to conclude the tenure. The district administration announced plans to appoint special officers for the Nizamabad municipal corporation, Bodhan, Armoor, Bheemgal, Kamareddy, Yellareddy, and Banswada municipalities to ensure a smooth transition and continued governance.
