Hyderabad: Delhi Public School at Nacharam in the city received a bomb threat on Tuesday. The school received a threat mail informing them that a bomb was planted on the campus, following which the management alerted cops. After a thorough inspection of the campus for four hours, cops found nothing suspicious and declared the threat a hoax.
PV Padmaja, DCP Malkajgiri zone, said that the threat turned out to be a hoax. A case was registered at Nacharam PS, and a probe is on to trace the sender of the mail. After the management alerted the cops during noon, different wings of Rachakonda police, Telangana police, along with bomb and dog squads, swung into action and carried out searches.
It was learnt that the children were also sent home during the searches as a precautionary measure. School sources told TOI that the situation is now normal and there was nothing to panic about. It may be noted that a few weeks ago, the school received a similar threat mail, and it also turned out to be a hoax.
However, the email IDs used by the senders in both incidents are different, confirmed an official.
