The Washington passenger jet midair collision with an army helicopter killed 67 people including passengers and 3 soldiers. While the rescue operations are underway, US President Donald Trump spoke about the incident today.
President Donald Trump condemned former leaders in a press conference, claiming they put politics first. President suggested the accident should have been prevented. Meanwhile, the FBI says there is no evidence of terrorism in the incident.
Trump claims that he increased the requirements for the psychological well-being of air traffic controllers during his first term while also lashing out at Biden for changing it back with diversity, equity, and inclusion policies in hiring.
“You had a confluence of bad decisions that were made, and you have people that lost their lives, violently lost their lives,” Trump added.
Trump further said that the helicopter was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Black Hawk helicopter had been carrying out a nighttime training mission.
