US President Donald Trump has said that the United States will take over the Gaza Strip and deploy the American troops in the region if it’s necessary, during a joint press briefing with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House on Tuesday.
During a bilateral meeting with Israeli PM NetanyahuTrump suggested that a US takeover of the Gaza Strip is a “long-term ownership position” which he claims would bring “great stability” to the entire Middle East region.
While talking about the US takeover of Gaza Strip at the press conference, Trump said “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site.”

Trump further added, “Level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area, do a real job, do something different,” reported CNN.
Earlier, during a meeting with Netanyahu in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump had said that people will not go back to Gaza because of the destruction in the area.
Responding to US President Trump’s suggestion of a US takeover of the Gaza Strip, Israel PM Netanyahu said the suggestion is “worthwhile” to pursue.
“He sees a different future for that piece of land that has been the focus of so much terrorism, so much, so many attacks against us, so many, so many trials and so many tribulations,” Netanyahu said during the press briefing.
