Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday said the new TPCC committees to be constituted will see 60% of BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities getting representation. He called upon the BCs not to fall prey to the misleading campaign by the BRS on caste survey statistics.
“The long-pending dream of the BCs and the demand for sub-classification of SCs has finally come true. This achievement was made possible by the initiatives taken by chief minister A Revanth Reddy and his cabinet colleagues,” he told reporters.
Mahesh Goud criticised the opposition for their intentional misleading campaign against the caste survey and said a responsible opposition should indulge in constructive criticism that benefits the BCs. The PCC chief also warned of stringent disciplinary action against those who make anti-party statements or indulge in anti-party activities.
“We have received information about Teenmar Mallanna’s comments on the caste census report and appropriate action will be taken,” he said.
BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar said BRS leaders should first explain to the BC community why BC leader Eatala Rajender was expelled for raising his voice for rights within the party. BRS leaders have no moral right to comment on the caste survey, he said.
Endowments and forest minister Konda Surekha flayed the BRS MLAs for staging a walkout during the assembly discussion on the caste census.
