Hyderabad: One person died and five others were injured after a car hit a lorry in Balkonda in Nizamabad district on Wednesday night. The family members were travelling to Maha Kumbh Mela, but en route, the accident took place.
Balkonda police said that Sampath Rana, 26, died on the spot, whereas the other five members escaped with injuries. The six members of the family, who are residents of Adibatla, started their journey from Hyderabad. When the SUV was travelling at Chintapur X roads, a lorry, which was moving ahead, suddenly turned left. The car went on to hit the lorry from behind and went underneath it.
Due to the impact of the accident, the airbags were ejected. “Sampath, who was seated in the second row, suffered injuries to his nose and head and died,” police said. The injured were shifted to a hospital.tnn
