Vijayawada: The govt railway police (GRP) in Vijayawada seized 107 kg of silver ornaments worth Rs 1 crore that were being transported without proper documentation. The consignment was brought from Agra to Vijayawada on GT Express. According to GRP circle inspector JV Ramana, the seizure was made during routine inspections at Vijayawada railway station on Tuesday night. Upon verification, police found that the silver ornaments were being transported without valid bills. As a result, the seized items were handed over to GST officials for further investigation. Police have launched an investigation to trace the source and intended recipients of the silver.
