Hyderabad: A former BRS corporator and his aides were booked for attempting to attack Hydraa officials at Badangpet under Meerpet police station limits on Thursday.
According to police, the accused Boyapalli Shekhar Reddy, a former corporator of one of the divisions in Badangpet, BRS party workers Boyapalli Venkat Reddy and Boyapalli Manikanth and their aides attacked Hydraa Inspector Thirumalesh’s team when the latter went to remove encroachments in Badangpet.
According to Hydraa officials, they had received complaints from locals about a box cricket ground illegally constructed by the accused on govt land in Boyapalli Enclave in Badangpet. When the Hydraa team started removing the encroachments, the accused started arguing with the team and later attacked them.
On Tirumalesh’s complaint, a case was registered against the accused at the Meerpet police station and investigations are underway, said a Hydraa official.
