Vijayawada: To quench the thirst of cattle in rural areas during the summer season, deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan directed the concerned departments to construct 12,500 drinking water storage sumps across the state. He also sanctioned Rs 56 crore in NREGA funds for their construction on Tuesday. Pawan ordered officials to complete the construction of the sumps, which would help quench the thirst of 25 lakh cattle across the state,by April 15. Accordingly, foundation stone for the construction of the 12,500 sumps—each costing 45,000—was laid across the state on Tuesday.TNN
