Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty has directed officials to expedite the construction of a 30-bed building at the Amberpet Urban Community Health Centre (UCHC). The facility, estimated to cost ₹5 crore, is aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the area.

During a surprise inspection of the hospital in Amberpet on Wednesday, the Collector interacted with pregnant women seeking medical care to assess the quality of services provided. He also reviewed the dialysis centre and hospital registers.

Following the inspection, the Collector instructed officials to begin construction work on the new building without delay. He also directed the Forest Range Officer to relocate trees within the hospital premises to facilitate the project. Additionally, he ordered strict action against those littering the hospital grounds, instructing officials to impose penalties on building owners adjacent to the hospital who dispose of garbage on the premises. If violations persist, he warned that criminal cases would be registered against offenders.

The Collector also directed the officials to ensure that the hospital’s oxygen plant remains functional. He further asked officials to submit proposals outlining additional equipment requirements for the hospital, said a release.
