Usually, such a big update generally includes some new features or at least performance improvements in critical areas. However, Samsung has made no such announcements with the new update. Hopefully, the company has made improvements in the accuracy of fitness and workout tracking.

To install the new update, open the Wearable app on your Galaxy (or any other Android) smartphone and head over to Watch settings » Watch software update » Download and install. Once you start the installation process, the smartwatch restarts itself once before the installation is finished.

The Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro were launched in mid-2022 with Wear OS 3.5 and One UI Watch 4.5 onboard. It received the Wear OS 4 and One UI Watch 5 update in the second half of 2023 and the Wear OS 5-based One UI Watch 6 update late last year.

Both smartwatches could get Wear OS 6-based One UI 7 Watch update before the end of this year. Samsung is already working on One UI Watch 7 internally and could open a beta program for it in the coming months.
