TGCHE Signs MoU With NASSCOM, IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council For Skill Development Initiatives


Hyderabad: Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) and IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council to undertake skill development initiatives in emerging technologies.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries and Commerce.

The objective of the MoU is to implement training programs aimed at upgrading relevant skills in emerging technologies for engineering and non-engineering students and faculty from universities, colleges and institutions under the aegis of TGCHE.

The collaboration is aimed to offer micro-learning content, foundation and deep-skilling courses (both free and paid) and a specialized offline course in “Embedded Software Development and Testing” to build a critical digital capability.

The NASSCOM will facilitate the upskilling of one lakh learners annually over the course of three years in the State.

Sridhar Babu, while speaking on the occasion, emphasized the pivotal role played by Telangana government in the growth and development of the Information Technology and Communications (IT&C) sector. He reiterated the vision of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to empower every graduate with industry-relevant skills.

He lauded the collaborative efforts of TGCHE and NASSCOM/IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council in advancing the important mission. He highlighted conversion of ITI’s into Advanced Training Centers (ATC) which will provide 100 per cent jobs to all students. He also emphasized to create Hyderabad into a Skill capital of India. He further highlighted the importance of industry academia collaboration by imparting market demand skills and providing suitable industry internships to the students at Telangana.

Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council, NASSCOM, in her address, highlighted the significant contributions made by NASSCOM towards the development of the IT industry in India. She also outlined various initiatives undertaken by the IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council to strengthen skill development across the sector.

Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman, TGCHE, in his remarks, showcased the recent initiatives undertaken by the TGCHE to align higher education with industry demands. He elaborated on the comprehensive curriculum reforms being initiating at the undergraduate level, ensuring that every student is exposed to technology-driven courses in emerging domains such as Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainable Sciences. These transformative changes are aimed at significantly enhancing the employability and industry-readiness of graduates across Telangana.
