Did a 400 km highway drive in my new Swift: Noted 8 key observations

The car can cruise comfortably in 100-110kmph range around 2500 rpm.

BHPian TheRedPaladin recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Did a highway run on my new Swift just for experiencing new car. We decided to drive towards Kolar and have some Bangarpet chat. We were 4 people and started the drive around 1130 am from North Bangalore.

The drive was through the STRR road and it was empty with sparse traffic. I wish the entire roads of our country is redesigned this way. I digress.

Few things I noted after 400 kms:

  • There is slight lag in the auto start/stop feature. Its not as good as the one I have in Kushaq.
  • The AMT is lazy, and switching to M +/- helps to undo this laziness in the car.
  • The car can cruise comfortably in 100-110kmph range around 2500 rpm.
  • The a/c is very good, compared to the weak one in Kushaq. Even without any sun films, the cabin temperature was set at 24, and it was nice and cool inside.
  • All time economy has come up to 13.8 kmpl (from 7.8 at the time of delivery)
  • The suspension is really good. No complaints here.
  • The audio system is decent. I’m not planning to change it.
  • The headlight seems good too for stock bulbs.

Plans for some changes:

  • Definitely getting a good sun film. Looking at Garware Artic Cool SG 80 for front, and Ice Cool SG 70 for sides and rear.

Not planning any other mods.

Really like how the car looks, Maruti did a really wonderful job on the design!
