Dhanush and Nayanthara had open battle about copyrights for using Nanum Rowdy Thaan Clips in Her Netflix Wedding Documentary Film, Nayanthara Beyond the Fairytale. Dhanush asked rs.10 cirores as compensation for using 3 seconds of Nanam Rowdy Thaan Fotage in the video.
While, they fought openly, AP International Films, who owns rights for Chandramukhi distribution have gone to court against usage of clips from the film in the documentary. Madras High Court has directed Nayanthara and Netflix to pay Rs.5 crores as compensation for copyright infringement.
They gave two weeks to both the teams to file their reply to this directive. They have asked Netflix to attach production budget details and also earnings from the documentary. We have to wait and see, how Netflix will react to this, as they do not share earnings but streamed minutes in public domain.
Now, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivn will have to reply to this in court and on social media with PR letters. Let’s see how she handles this as she is currently busy with Mega157 in the direction of Anil Ravipudi opposite Megastar Chiranjeevi.
