The move came after some people introducing themselves as journalists started harassing people building houses and officials.

Two corporators from Congress and one from the AIMIM raised the issue during the standing committee meeting on Thursday. After dealing with a proposal to grant permission to deputy commissioners (DCs) to revoke building permissions. corporators said that the people impersonating journalists were visiting GHMC offices as well construction sites and harassing people and constructors.

GHMC staff fired for login fraud

Hyderabad:A section writer working as a computer operator in the town planning wing of the GHMC has been sacked after he fraudulently attempted to log into the official account of Serilingampally zonal commissioner (ZC) Borkhade Hemant Sahadeorao, an IAS officer, at midnight.

The zonal commissioner was alerted after receiving an OTP notification, which triggered an internal probe. The operator, V. Abhilash, was found guilty and his services subsequently terminated from service.

In the town planning wing, files seeking building permission and Occupancy Certificates (OC) require clearance from the ZC. The specific motive behind the attempted login remains unclear.

The termination order cited “behaviour issues” as the reason for dismissal, allegedly to cover up the incident and avoid drawing attention to past irregularities.

Sources said town planning staff, including town planning supervisors (TPS), often rely on outsourced computer operators who, in several cases, have assisted in carrying out irregular or fraudulent activities.
