The leopard which has triggered the panic button in the localities around Gandipet and kept the forest officials on their toes is finally in the cage.
Ranga Reddy district forest officials have successfully captured the feline in one of their trap cages set up inside the Forest Trek Park at Chilukur on Wednesday (July 30, 2025).
The animal, a healthy adult male, walked into the cage during night, lured by the live bait, officials informed.
He will be taken to the Nehru Zoological Park, and after health check ups, will be released in forest, he said.
The leopard was first spotted in Chilukur about 20 days ago, in a nursery of the Telangana State Medicinal Plants Board.
