HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday evening arrested Sandeep Kumar in connection with the Rs 792 crore Falcon scam. He was taken into custody under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).Sandeep Kumar, who was earlier arrested by the CID and released on bail on Thursday was summoned by the ED. After appearing before the agency, he was questioned and subsequently arrested. The ED is conducting a parallel probe under PMLA, based on the predicate offence registered by the CID.According to ED sources, Sandeep Kumar is the younger brother of Amardeep Kumar, who was arrested by the CID while entering India via Nepal. Sandeep Kumar reportedly refused to cooperate with the ED investigation concerning the funds he received from Capital Protection Force Private Limited, the company behind the Falcon invoice discounting scam.Sandeep Kumar was produced before the magistrate and remanded to judicial custody. He was initially arrested by the CID on June 4, 2025. He was heading operations of Capital Protection Force Private Limited, while his elder brother Amardeep Kumar served as the chairman and director. The prime accused in the case remains absconding.Investigating agencies allege that the suspects created fictitious transactions and diverted funds. Sandeep, who fled to Dubai, re-entered India illegally through Nepal. Earlier, the police confiscated three luxury cars worth Rs 2.5 crore. The ED stated that properties linked to the scam are being attached.
