Heavy overnight rains lashed several parts of Telangana on the night of August 11, continuing into the morning of 12 August, bringing widespread wet conditions across multiple districts.
According to Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Between 8.30 AM of August 11 and 8 AM of August 12, KapulakakanParthy in Wargal district recorded the highest rainfall of 21.8 cm. This was followed by 19.4 cm in Sangem (Warangal), 19 cm in Nagaram (Surypet), 18.3 cm in Phanigri (Surypet), 16 cm in urus (Warangal), Bhongir), 13.1 cm in Wardhannapet (Warangal), 12.6 cm in cm (Warangal), 12.4 cm in Kashibugga (Warangal) and 12.1 cm in Waddekothapalle (Mahabubad).
Hyderabad and its surrounding areas also received moderate overnight showers. Within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, Gajularamaram recorded the highest rainfall of 6 cm, followed by 3.4 cm in Quthbullapur. Moosapet, Rajendranagar and Secunderabad each recorded 2.5 cm, while Bowenpally, Secunderabad Cantonment, Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru reported 2.4 cm. Yousufguda registered 2.2 cm.
MeanwHILE, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has been issued a heavy rainfall alert for 12 August, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanmakonda districts.
