Hyderabad: Patriotic fervour gripped Hyderabad on Friday, as government departments, academic institutions, voluntary organisations and families celebrated the 79th Independence Day by hoisting the tricolour, organising sporting events, holding parades, blood donation camps, felicitation programs and recalling the history of the Indian freedom struggle.
In addition to the official ceremonies, a vibrant spirit of patriotism filled the air across the city. Many neighborhoods and apartment complexes hosted smaller-scale events where residents gathered to unfurl the national flag, sing patriotic songs, and share sweets. Children participated in drawing competitions and fancy-dress parades, proudly dressed as national heroes. Local communities also organized cultural programs showcasing traditional dances and music.
The Cyberabad Police celebrated 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervor at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate Parade Grounds on Friday.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, hoisted the national flag and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for India’s independence.
Extending greetings to the staff and citizens, the Commissioner reflected on the sacrifices of countless individuals that secured the nation’s freedom and urged all to draw inspiration from their legacy.
He stressed the police force’s vital role in maintaining law and order, safeguarding national integrity, and promoting social harmony.
On the occasion, seven officers were honored with the Uttam Seva Pathakam for outstanding service.
