Traffic on the city’s outskirts was disrupted on Thursday evening after a large boulder from the rocky outcrop along the Manchirevula service road slid onto the carriageway.

The incident was reported on the service road towards Telangana Police Academy (TGPA), Narsingi, prompting the immediate deployment of Cyberabad traffic police teams to manage the situation.

At 6.16 p.m., the traffic police posted an update on social media, stating that the fallen boulder was causing heavy congestion and requesting motorists to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly.

About twenty minutes later, a formal advisory was issued announcing diversions. For traffic heading towards Narsingi, vehicles were directed to take a left at the first underpass of Manchirevula, use the Narsingi–Kokapet service roads until Narsingi rotary 2, and then divert via Narsingi ROB to reach the Avatar service road.

For those travelling towards Avatar, the route was via the service road after Narsingi Rotary 1. Motorists were advised to follow diversion signage and cooperate with traffic staff on duty.

By around 7.30 p.m., service roads towards TGPA from Narsingi were closed, and heavy traffic congestion was reported at Narsingi rotary junction from My Home Avatar. Commuters were urged to follow updated traffic advisories via Narsingi rotary 2.

At 8.25 p.m., the traffic police reported that ACP, Madhapur Traffic Division, had visited the spot to monitor the situation. Instructions were issued to the Narsingi police officials to cut the median to allow two-way traffic flow between Narsingi and TGPA in an effort to ease congestion.
