I need your advice to help me make a decision. My use case mostly involves city driving with heavy to moderate traffic and occasional highway runs (once in 3-4 months), those too not more than 300 kms in a day. Points pushing me towards Petrol Automatic and swaying me away from Diesel Automatic – 1. Smoother and familiar drive experience. (I have never owned a diesel car) 2. No DPF regen concerns/hassles. I am not a frequent highway tourer. Points pushing me towards Diesel Automatic and swaying me away from Petrol Automatic – 1. Better mileage as Petrol Automatics are known to give abysmal FE in city conditions. 2. Better resale in case I decide to switch to another vehicle in 4-5 years. Diesel Automatic might move faster in the used car market than Petrol. Questions where I need assistance – 1. How bad is the DPF regen in Thar Roxx Diesel Automatic with mostly city driving? How frequently will I need to go for a highway run in case I get a DPF regen alert? 2. How bad is the FE of Petrol in city conditions? 3.
