BHPian Tony2298 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Some cool additions Hi all, The thread is almost an year old now and festive fervour is back again which demands some cool stuff for my lovely and reliable workhorse. Intentionally did these upgrades now as I do plan to head out for a long cross country road trip soon. Wheel alignment & balancing Even though it’s just been 4k kms since the previous service due to horrendous road conditions of the city roads as well as the expressway(the recent resurfacing is actually worse than the older patches, how is that even possible?!), it’s taken a toll on the alignment and the car was pulling violently to the right. Hence visited the alignment shop, selected that specific store because they use top tier Hunter equipment. After doing the alignment they reported the alignment was totally out and hence the pulling issue. Balancing also was totally out and weights only inflated the bill by a significant amount. However, the end result was perfect and as of now the car has an arrow straight steering and it’s a joy to drive once again! The shop uses top tier Hunter equipment which I always prefer. Fog lights The Tucson’s stock headlights are terrific since it comes with a penta projector setup and illuminates the road ahead beautifully which is quite rare since nowadays most of the OEM give trashy lights even in expensive cars like Innova HyCross which is a serious safety concern especially considering our roads are full of surprise elements and darkness hides a lot of such hazards. However, the OE fog lights were poor halogen bulbs which were just a bit too inadequate to light up the area which is not covered by the headlights and more often than not I wasn’t able to judge those potholes and unmarked speed breakers. Hence went ahead and got an upgrade for the fog lamps. After doing some research, zeroed in on a store which is quite famous for doing lighting upgrades and they’re quite accustomed to working on even expensive cars, met the owner, quite a nice chap and even a car afiocando (realised it when he said he owns a Polo 1.6GT TDi!). He ensured proper relay installation and alignment of the lights and end result was exactly what I wanted! For town usage, you don’t even need the main lights! License plate and reverse lights to LEDs The Tucson is a wonderful looking SUV and easily looks at par or even better than some entry level luxury SUVs, even small attention to detail viz Puddle lights under ORVMs, Pocket lights in door handles and all white interior lights give it such a ber cool feeling but the poor halogen bulbs in reverse lights and license plate lights felt totally out of place. Even something like a Maruti Fronx gets cool white lights for the aforementioned areas! Hence asked the store owner to swap those bulbs too, went ahead and installed Blaupunkt LEDs. The look feels so complete now! OT- They keep on asking, what makes guys really happy? The answer is simple, cars&bikes! Yesterday while roaming a mall saw some really cool scale models, started enquiring about more models and the sales person asked about age of the kid for whom toy has to be bought, gave her a subtle smile and she understood everything, naturally since I was the only grown up fellow there wearing an official RedBull F1 jersey and seeing those models in too much detail . The KTM model which I really liked The RB20 official licensed scale model. They also had the McLaren, Mercedes F1 models! Yours truly happened to be the only grown up fellow absolutely having a blast playing Asphalt 9Arcade and I don’t even regret my childish attitude a bit So yeah, that was a small update regarding my ever dependable and reliable workhorse. Will again update the thread with a long cross country road trip which I plan to head out soon! Till then, take care and stay blessed! Read BHPian comments for more insights and information.
