BHPian shauryadabas recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Hello everyone! This is an ownership review of our 2024 Mazda CX-50 Premium Plus, which me and my fiance purchased brand new in January 2024 after she started her job in Florida. She absolutely fell in love with the way Mazdas look and feel, after driving my 2017 Mazda 6 (which I have earlier reviewed in this forum here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-…ip-review.html). When the time came to buy her first new car, there was no doubt it had to be a Mazda and an SUV because we already had a perfect sedan. The CX-50, with its rugged and premium looks fit the bill perfectly. The only confusion was the color, because honestly it looks attractive in all the available colors. After mutually deciding, we ended up choosing Polymetal Gray with black interiors. The car has now covered 30,000 miles (~48,000 kms) in around 20 months. I covered most of these miles, since I love driving. We have driven it across Florida, West Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina . It has been a wonderful companion with no issues so far. Here is my honest list of pros and cons:Pros:1. Looks are hands down the best in the segment. The squat build, flared fenders, and signature Mazda Kodo design turns heads wherever we go. 2. Steering feedback and handling is very engaging for a crossover. It is fun to drive especially on curves and turns, corners much better than most SUVs at this price. It shares identical dimensions (LxWxH) with a Porsche Macan. 3. Dashboard design is clean, attractive, driver focused, and intuitive at the same time. 4. The 12-speaker Bose system and Heads Up Display make long drives exciting. 5. Generous space, good seating position, and a large boot. 6. Getting in and out of the car is very easy. My parents loved it when they visited us last month. 7. Minimum body roll as compared to other SUVs in the segments. 8. Feature loaded: Heads up display, Blind spot monitoring, ventilated seats, memory seats, contrast stitched leather seats, power liftgate, adaptive cruise control etc. 9. Standard AWD makes it perfect for all terrain. 10. 20 inch wheels look striking and gives it a solid road presence.Cons:1. No ambient lights in interiors makes it too dark at night. 2. Although it is the top trim of the non-turbo variant, it still lacks 360 camera and parking sensors which are present in the turbo top trim. 3. The overall width and 20 inch wheels are prone to curb strikes. 4. Acceleration on the standard naturally aspirated engine feels adequate but not exceptional. We haven’t taken it for camping and off-roading yet, but we would love to do it in the near future. We would also like to tow a small boat someday. Overall, we fell in love with it when we saw it for the first time and we are still in awe of this amazing vehicle. Here are few pics of our car: With our 2017 Mazda 6 (reviewed here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-…ip-review.html): The very useful Heads Up Display shows navigation directions as well: I will keep updating this thread along with my Mazda 6 ownership thread as well.
