NeoKavch, a safety airbag for bike riders, an Indo-French joint venture has launched a series of intelligent wearable airbag vest systems for bike riders. Neocover Air Vest is claimed to be India’s first intelligent wearable airbag system, designed to reduce serious injuries to the upper body, especially the chest, spine and neck areas, and protect vital organs. This airbag vest system deploys in less than 100 milliseconds during a crash and provides cushioning to critical areas such as the torso, back and shoulders.

Motorcycle riders face 40 times more risk than car drivers, so they need more protection in collisions. Studies show that approximately 70% of rider deaths are caused by serious injuries to the torso, spine or neck, areas where traditional riding products offer limited protection. The NeoCavt Air Vest aims to overcome these shortcomings by opening within 100 milliseconds of collision detection, protecting critical upper body organs and reducing the risk of fatal injury. The airbag capacity, ranging from 17 liters to 28 litres, promises complete upper body protection.
NeoCavt uses a tether-based mechanical trigger that attaches to the motorcycle and activates immediately upon impact or sudden ejection of the rider, causing the airbag to deploy immediately thereby reducing the severity of a collision and preventing excessive spinal strain or limb injury – all without any batteries, charging or electronic sensors. Once installed, it can also be reset and reused by changing the cartridge, making it a practical and cost-effective security system. NeoCavch Air Vest is made in India and meets global certification standards. For better protection and force distribution, the air vest comes with a CE Level 2 certified back protector with an airbag underneath.
